Delete your Crux account
Last updated:
This page is about Crux, the training companion for climbers published by Nhut Hy Jimmy Nguyen. Accounts are optional in Crux — they only power cloud sync and Crux Plus. You can request deletion at any time; it's free and permanent.
How to request deletion
- Email support@crux-climb.app from the email address of your Crux account (that's how we verify the request really comes from you).
- Use the subject line: "Delete my Crux account".
- We confirm by reply, and deletion is completed within 30 days at most (usually a few days).
What gets deleted
- Your account and email address
- Your synced climbing and workout sessions
- Your post-session check-ins (fatigue, fingers, notes)
- Your boulder photos backed up in the cloud
- Your synced gyms and preferences
In other words: everything our servers know about you. Technical backups of our servers expire automatically within 30 days after deletion.
What is not affected
- Local data on your phone — Crux is local-first: what's on your device is yours and stays there until you uninstall the app.
- An active Crux Plus subscription — subscriptions are managed by Apple or Google: remember to cancel it from the App Store or Google Play (we can't do it for you). Purchase history stays with Apple/Google under their own policies.
Deleting data without closing your account
You can also delete part of your data without deleting your account: any session, workout or photo you delete in the app is deleted from our servers on the next sync. For a broader request without closing the account, write to the same email.
For details on what we collect (and above all what we don't), see the privacy policy.
